Your Mission: Explore one of Switzerland’s best-kept secrets - a real 2000m² underground army bunker that was carved into the mountainside near Montreux and used during WW2 & the Cold War. Fort de Chillon opened to civilians in 2020, and is just 30 mins from Lausanne and 1h30 from Geneva.
You’ll navigate a maze of tunnels, command stations, weapons rooms & soldiers' quarters, brought to life with real equipment, strategic games, & historical simulations.

Great for Kids
This isn't one of these "don't touch" museums - in fact it's the exact opposite! At Fort de Chillon kids (& adults) are invited to touch everything, push buttons, solve puzzles, explore missions, play virtual reality games and just be kids!
The Fort is ideal for kids ages 3 & older. You can bring younger kids but please note there are stairs.

Make It a Full Day in Montreux
The fort is easily accessible by public transportation (bus stop right in front) or car (free parking in front). It is also a 35-min walk from Montreux (or 5-min drive): perfect for a scenic day along the lakefront.
