A Unique Musical Experience (and Guess What's a Pipa?)
After selling-out at the Sydney Opera House, London Royal Festival Hall and Washington Kennedy Center, the China National Traditional Orchestra will ring in the Chinese New Year in Geneva's Victoria Hall on Feb 13.
The 110-person orchestra features traditional Chinese instruments and music, interlaced with modern energy. And you'll almost certainly see some instruments you never knew existed - like the pipa, erhu and guanzi.
2 global stars join the Geneva show:
- Liu Sha (Conductor): trained at the St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music, personally led the orchestra's sold-out performances at Carnegie Hall.
- Zhang Jiali (Guanzi instrument): the 1st guanzi player to win a Golden Bell Award and to record with Germany's label Deutsche Grammophon.
