Except for its 15 Gault Millau points, Le Floris is also just 1 of 2 Geneva restaurants to have been awarded 2 Michelin stars for its world-class cuisine. And their chef/owner - Claude Legras - is just 1 among a handful of chefs in the world to have won 5 Michelin stars over his career.
But there's a unique story there:
In 2015 chef Legras decided to give up his 2 Michelin stars for Le Floris, so that his cooking becomes more accessible to more people. Michelin guide respected his request for a while, but in 2017 they awarded him another star...Chef Legras once again asked for the star to be removed, and Michelin finally agreed in 2018. We'll see if Michelin resist the temptation to give him more stars again...(-;
